imagine it:
30 women in a hotel conference room. stamping, chatting (some very loudly, some being catty), eating tons of junk food, and just having a good time. that was us (me, gertie and jenn included) on Friday after a 2 hour drive to the Chicago suburbs. It was a shoebox trade. We each brought a sample card and supplies to make it, and pass it all around so everyone gets to make each card. we got done about 11pm on Friday (that's nearly 6 hours of stamping)! saturday morning we got up early and made MORE cards (38 total between the two days) and ate more junk food. after that, we were done stamping. we headed to the little shopping community of Long Grove, IL and bought some cute stuff. From there, we were off to IKEA. It was Jenn's first time there. It was packed, but we all had a good time. I only spent $22.75. I thought the cash register was wrong. I've never gotten out of there that cheap! It's probably only because I knew we didn't have a lot of spare room in the car. I think Dave and I are going back in November. (I convinced him to go w/me only because there's a store in the mall across from IKEA that sells the D&D stuff he loves so much!) From there, we went to Woodfield Mall. We were looking for pants for the Big C (gertie's son), but it took us a LONG time to find them. Along the way we went to Fredricks of Hollywood (not telling if anyone bought anything!) and a BUNCH of other stores. We had root beer floats at A&W, we each bought the newest "Oprah's Book Club" book, A Million Little Pieces and decided we'll have our own book club. We'll go to dinner to talk about it when we're done. (so far, it's REALLY good!) After that, it was dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. (Gertie had the BLT Pizza, I had the Tostada Pizza, Jenn had the Roasted Potato & Grilled Chicken Pizza). SO good! We finally headed back to the hotel after about 8 hours of shopping/walking. Gertie took a short dip in the hot tub, Jenn and I hung out and chatted. We headed back to the room to read, and were all asleep by about 11pm. Up early Sunday, a quick stop at Dunkin Donuts, and we headed home. It was a good weekend, and now I'm doing an early shift at work. I can't wait for our next stampin weekend!
Oh yeah....Dave picked up some of the leaves in our front yard. There were so many, that I didn't even notice. But he did, so that's good. I wonder if he read my blog.....
