Enough already!

Ok, so my blog has become a picture blog. Girls, I know you don't mind so much. Guys...well, some of you don't mind! Anyway, here's to more "Substance" in my blog.

I started my team training again...4 women working with a personal trainer at the club. I need it to pay off this time...I'm in a wedding on October 7. So, I have a few weeks. So far I've been in every day for a week. Strength training 3 times a week, cardio the rest of the days. Hopefully I can keep a good pace for 5 weeks and at least get the dress I have to wear to feel comfortable!

Was that enough substance for you? Because the rest is just about the music we're playing right now. There are a lot of songs with some REALLY good lyrics. Fun and/or powerful...the music is good now. And I like it, so I'm gonna share!

Carrie Underwood: Before He Cheats (she sings this song with so much passion, you KNOW she's been cheated on!)

Right now he's probably slow dancing with a bleach blonde tramp, and she's probably getting frisky...
right now, he's probably buying her some fruity little drink cause she can't shoot whiskey...
Right now, he's probably up behind her with a pool-stick, showing her how to shoot a combo...
And he don't know...
That I dug my key into the side of his pretty little suped up 4 wheel drive, carved my name into his leather seat...I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights, slashed a hole in all 4 tires...And maybe next time he'll think before he cheats.

Montgomery Gentry: Some People Change (Kenny Chesney also has this on his CD, but didn't release it)
She was born with her mother's habit, You could say it's in her blood
she hates that she's gotta have it, as she fills her glass up
And she'd love to kill that bottle, but all she can think about
Is a better life, a second chance, and everyone she's letting down
She throws that bottle down. Here's to the strong; thanks to the brave. Don't give up hope, some people change. Against all odds, against the grain, Love finds a way, some people change.

Brad Paisley: She's Everything
She’s a yellow pair of running shoes
A holey pair of jeans
She’s looks great in cheap sunglasses
She looks great in anything
She’s “I want a piece of chocolate”
“Take me to a movie”
She’s “I can’t find a thing to wear”
Now and then she’s moody
She’s a Saturn with a sunroof
With her brown hair a blowin'
She’s a soft place to land
And a good feeling knowing
She’s a warm conversation that I wouldn’t miss for nothing
She’s a fighter when she’s mad and a lover when she’s loving
She’s everything that I ever wanted
And everything I need
When I talk about her I go on and on and on
Cause she is everything to me

Kenny Chesney: You Save Me
I know I don't tell you nearly enough
That I couldn't live one day without your love
When I'm a ship tossed around on the waves
Up on a highwire that's ready to break
When I've had just about all I can take
Baby you, baby you save me
When I'm a bullet shot out of a gun
When I'm a firecracker coming undone
When I'm a fugitive ready to run, all wild-eyed and crazy
No matter where my reckless soul takes me
Baby you save me

Yee Haw!

Now, this is NICE! It's Marcus Shankenburg...or something like that. I'm too lazy to look it up. He's the guy that was on Surreal Life with Vern Troyer and Chyna Doll. That was the first time I'd ever heard of him.

A little change of pace

For many reasons, Donnie has always been my favorite Wahlberg. Then we went to see "Invincible" with Mark Wahlberg this weekend.

Check out those ARMS! (I'm not talking about Greg Kinnears arms...) I wish I could find an image of him walking away from a game of football with his friends in the rain with his shirt stuck to him. Holy frijoles! That's what I have to say about that!

Oh, and it was an EXCELLENT movie. About so much more than football. I highly recommend it!

Ok, Ok

Here's another picture for you! Actually, it's a picture just for T...just for bein' a poop on Saturday night! I know how much you love these!

Happy weekend!!

What a bitch

There's this bitch, and her name is Karma. I am so sick of her, I could spit. You've heard my stories about my car. Well, this is a new one.

Tonight, I was working out while there was some severe weather (tornado warning) that was to expire at 10pm. Yep, I did it. I said "I love when severe weather ends at 10!" because I go on at 10. Severe weather sucks when you're in radio. You can't go in a basement like everyone else. You have to make sure you're on the air every 5 minutes updating the situation.

Well you know what? That bitch, Karma, screwed with me again. That damn tornado warning lasted until midnight. There were actually a couple of them. One til 10:45....oh wait, lets extend that until 11:30. Then the one in our area til midnight.

I don't know what to do about her. And I don't know what the hell I did to piss her off!!!

**update. apparently I need to quit talking smack about my girl Karma. It's 3:50am. There are STILL severe thunderstorm warnings in our area. they will get cancelled, just to reappear 15 minutes later. and it stinks. hail, wind, hard rain, etc. we've had it all. i wish it was winter.

This is the current radar. I swear to GOD it has looked the SAME since this storm started. It just won't go away.

I got mega points for that!

I decided to buy Dave a present yesterday, as a surprise. And he was VERY happy!
A 20" flat panel LCD monitor. Only problem is this...I can't say to him "why are you always on the computer?" when he has a great monitor like that! Believe it or not, he actually left the house last night! I was a bit surprised. But we had to go to an 8 year old's birthday party. Holy crap there were a lot of kids! I picked up little Marshall (born July 10th) and he proceeded to fall asleep in my arms. I put him down, and ended up with Benjamin (almost 5 months old). After a little while, he fell asleep too. What does that say about me that it takes me no time to put kids to sleep???
When we were getting ready to leave, Dave's sister-in-law said "we're grabbing a bottle of wine and going home!" and that turned into dave, me, and his 2 sisters going to his brothers house to drink beer and talk. It was SO much fun! It's not often we get a chance to hang out in a small group like that because Dave has a HUGE family. With his parents, siblings and their spouses/significant others/kids/grandkids, there are 37 people. I have one brother, one sister-in-law and 2 nieces...WAY different! Anyway, when his family gets together it can be (and usually is) a crazy mess. So just the 6 of us hanging out was fun. And we get to have the whole family together today!! Woo hoo!

It took me so long to count Dave's family, I no longer know what that paragraph says. Hope it makes sense!

Finally Friday!

This week seems like it lasted a month. Thankfully Friday is here, and we've got a busy weekend ahead.

I was going to post about a book I just read in THREE DAYS. Well, I still will. But I wanted to show you a picture of my new favorite vehicle, the Jeep Compass. Ok, maybe not my FAVORITE. But I've always been a fan of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and this seems a much better follow-up than the liberty. Here is the Compass. No, I won't be getting one any time soon. But I can look on in admiration!!

Ok, for the ladies...or my faithful readers who like books that would make good chick-flicks. It's called Baby Proof. I wasn't sure what to expect. I had been reading an interesting book called The Lovely Bones, but I just couldn't get going on that one. The concept was cool...a girl who had been murdered and was looking down from heaven at the things going on with her family and friends. But, I put that one away and started Baby Proof on Monday at about 5:30pm. I finished it tonight (Thursday) at about 11:00pm. A good, easy read. I enjoyed it immensely. Check it out if you need something to read that doesn't take much thought or concentration! I don't usually endorse books, but I felt I had to with this one!

YES!

Yes, I met LeRoy Butler this past weekend. It was exciting and fun and all of that! And yes, Dave was with me, so he met him too. I interviewed him, and it was over WAY too fast, so I didn't get to ask any questions I had spent hours thinking of (he was over an hour late), but I still think I did a good job and didn't make a complete fool of myself!

Yes, THE NEIGHBORS ARE MOVING!!! You know, the ones who can't seem to park in the driveway of their own house. They had a moving sale over the weekend, and we wondered if it was because they sold their house, or in hopes of selling. (their house has been on the market since April). Today...I saw a moving truck and they were loading it up. YES!

Yes, Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson are splitting up. With what she said about marriage last summer, I'm not surprised!

Yes, I believe that if I say, out loud, that I want a new car, something will happen to mine (like when the transmission went out and then again when i got a flat tire.) But GOD, I want a new car!!! I'm really diggin' the new Saturn Aura, but please don't tell my car. She's a bit temperamental!

Yes, I believe in Karma. It's a bitch. Looking back at all the things that have happened..it's killing me. Let's review:
February 2006: "I got $3! We can buy a new car!" Two days later, my cars transmission stopped working.
Also February 2006, in preparation for my trip to Texas, I said the words "Warm weather". While I was there, it was rainy and cold...40's and 50's. When I got home, it was 70 there and snowed 10 inches here.
July 31, 2006: "I don't care if my car gets totaled, it's paid for!" Less than an hour later, a flat tire on the interstate with my 8 year old niece riding with me.

I gotta do something about this Karma crap!!!

Size Lyin' Bitch!

Saturday, at our volleyball party, Sarah ran into this girl in the bathroom, and said "That's a cute skirt!" The girl replied, not by saying "Thanks, it was on clearance for $2 at Old Navy!", but by saying "Thanks, I got it from the children's section at Old Navy!"

Size Lyin' Bitch!!!

That wasn't all that happened this weekend, but it was one of the funniest!

What's that noise?

Tonight at work, a cop friend of mine called me. He's undercover in a city that is not madison. He was doing surveillance, and it wasn't of the traffic variety. Well, not car-type traffic anyway! I could hear his scanner in the background, and it was pretty cool! He used to call a lot while he lived in the area, but it's been a while. So tonight when he said, in a rushed manner "I gotta go. Talk to you later." I knew he meant business! I used to work for the police department (not a cop, just a records clerk) and the business has always intrigued me. I have done a number of ride-alongs...some exciting, some not so much. I know I could never be a cop. I don't have the balls for it. And I'm too emotional. I'd be crying all the time. So I just look on in wonder. Like when I was on a ride along and the cop had to kick in the door to a suspect's apartment. Bam. Bam. Bam. The door was broken!!! Some people have issues with cops. I don't. I respect them (for the most part) and know that (for the most part) they're trying to keep me safe. So I try to not get in their way! (for the most part, of course)! Before he called, I was reading an article online about another agency in the area who recently encountered one of their officers being shot at, and that is another reason why I could never be a cop, or be married to one. Shots fired? No thanks, I'm done! My husband works on computers. It's pretty safe, as far as I can tell. No shots fired in the 2.5 years we've been together!!!

Are you begging for more???

Ok, fine. It's all for you. I'm totally NOT putting these up here for myself. Here's where I found these pics.

What a weekend!

It was very busy, but very good! Thursday was the Kenny Chesney/Dierks Bentley/Jake Owen concert, and my mom came with me. If you know me at all, you know I love Kenny Chesney. Some of you even know my mom loves him as well. She was able to meet him with me back in 99. She has now been to 3 of his concerts. Me? Six. And I ain't done yet!
He sings a song called "When the Sun Goes Down" with Uncle Kracker, and believe it or not, he was there too! All in all, a fabulous show!
Friday was our huge, outdoor, free concert. I was stuck in the same beltline mess as Amy, and it made me VERY crabby. Then, while riding a golf cart around the grounds, I saw Phil Vassar without his shirt on. OK, my day just got a LOT better. It was a fantastic show. Taylor Swift, Katrina Elam, Jack Ingram, Rushlow Harris, Steve Azar and Phil Vassar.

That's what it looks like to be standing on stage while Phil Vassar is performing. He invited us up to sing Piano Man with him. OH MY GOD. It was the coolest thing EVER! I stood about 2 feet from him while he played piano/harmonica and sang.
After the show we drank a lot and had a FANTASTIC time. Saturday I had to work at 10am. That was rough. But I made it! Saturday night I had a remote. Man, I was SO tired. I was asleep by 10:45pm, and got up at about 9:30. At 1pm on Sunday I already needed a nap, so I took a 2 hour one. I think I'm good now. It was exhausting this weekend, but it was the best time ever!!!

This is comfy!

Maybe I should close the fridge while I'm making Dave's lunch, huh?

WOOT!

I don't use that word unless I'm REALLY excited! So that must mean I'm REALLY excited! I have been a Packer fan for about 10 years now, and even though he left the team a few years ago, Leroy Butler has always been my favorite. A few years back (must have been about 10 actually) he was in town doing an autograph signing if you brought a non-perishable food item. I got there just in time to see his limo driving away. About 3 years ago (I think) he was visiting local grocery stores and autographing his book. I had to go, and thankfully I was on time for this one. Now, coming up August 12th, he's going to be at Indian Trails Campground for his Leroy Butler Foundation Breast Cancer Fundraiser. My station is taking part in it, and guess who gets to be there? ME!!! ME ME ME and ME! All by myself, with Leroy Butler!!! WOOOOOOT!!!

I wanna...

What I want to do is post a "real" blog. But I think it will get in the way of the pictures. From Hollywood Rag I give you BEACH YOGA
