Is tile supposed to come up in sheets like this? We're seeing the same sort of work as we saw in the kitchen. A layer of tile over two layers of vinyl.
That's the bottom layer of vinyl that Dave thinks his parents had when he was growing up. I also tore out the linen closet thingy. That was kind of fun. The major bathroom work will get done this weekend. New bathtub, vanity (if it comes in), toilet...and floor. I can not wait for this to be done.
And this, my friends, is the danger of hard labor.

In other news, our neighbors are moving. The for sale sign went up today. This is good. Not because they are bad neighbors...we didn't know them at all. However, they are the ones with a bazillion cars that don't get parked in the driveway. It's crazy. So, they're moving. We're hoping it sells fast, and the new neighbors have a few less cars!

How and when did Dave's parents get that vinyl in to your house under that tile? You would think you guys would've noticed something like that! Unless they came from the future, after you guys bought the house, back to the past or something and laid it before you guys had even bought the house! . . . WHOA! . . .
Oh, and, uh...nice job on the hand there. You bring a whole new meaning to the phrase, "having your palm 'red'." Ugh. I heard Dave still made you work after that. :D (j/k) (And by the way...I disagree with him...I wouldn't cut open the dark thing!)
i think they just willed it into our house. you're a parent...you know how it is. if you want something, you get it. right?
and i already did the "dark thing". it's MUCH better now. you can hardly even tell i did something so stupid to myself.
