I'll probably get in trouble for this one

Ok, so here I am, minding my own business. At work. I've been in the biz long enough to know what "most" listeners want to hear. Just today I heard someone say "I really like so-and-so, they talk about their life, and I can really relate to it."
So, tonight I mentioned that I'm having 20 people at my house for Christmas and I have to figure out how to make a ham and where to put everyone. It's a little stressful.
I got a call from someone who said she'd "been doing this a lot longer" than me. This being what? I don't know. She gave me some "advice". I shouldn't talk about my personal life. There are better things to talk about. To complain about Christmas when most people are depressed anyway is just wrong. WHAT? Seriously, I wasn't complaining. I was JOKING. And I'm sorry, but I don't think MOST people are depressed at Christmas.
I'm so fucking pissed off right now, I can't even stand it. I wish I'd been recording the call so I could tell you what she said, word-for-word. But it's pretty fresh in my head, so I think I have given you a good idea of her "advice".
My "advice" to this person who has "been doing this a lot longer" than me? Fuck off. Find something better to do than call someone ON THE RADIO and insult them. Because that's really fucking rude.

What a b*tch!!!!!! Ugh, I'm so glad I'm not in your line of work! Honestly, if she doesn't like what you have to say, no one is forcing her to listen. I know from experience that there are other radio stations in the Madison area for people to channel surf through.

Perhaps the this to which your little "Ann Landers" was referring was the practice of calling someone ON THE RADIO and rudely insulting them.

She must have a lot of practice - it sounds like she's pretty good at it.

And by the way, I hear deejays talk about their personal life all the time. I'm sure you do too. And as far as I know, very few people ever call them to tell them "there are better things to talk about." Perhaps you should have asked her, "Ma'am? What would you prefer I talk about? The asinine phone calls I get from chowderhead deejay wannabe's while on the air in the wee hours of the night?"

I think what she's been doing longer than you is being a dried up, bitter, ..... (did you know that here, cunt isn't all that nasty, unlike the U.S. where it's almost the worst word you can use?)

mmmmm ham. I got a kangaroo roast I was thinking of making for xmas. John probably won't go for it though and I'll end up doing a pot roast or ham. I'll have about a tenth the number of people over, bu t that will be ok.

Miss you!
