My husband and I drove to Evanston, IL last night...and of course yesterday we had freezing rain. Fortunately, our drive was VERY uneventful. That's always a good thing. We got into Evanston last night and promptly found our hotel room. We didn't do much. It was late, we just chilled. This morning I walked to Dunkin' Donuts and got breakfast. After breakfast, we got the train to Northwestern and found Welsh-Ryan arena...to see Wisconsin take on Northwestern. I could not believe how many Wisconsin fans were there! It was awesome.
If you watched the game, you know it was ugly!!! But hey, a win is a win, right? That's what I thought! We got the train back to the area our hotel was in, and headed out. We stopped at BD's in Naperville for dinner. We then headed to Waukegan and found our next hotel. This one was my idea. I figured hey, we're out of town already, why not stay an extra night. Plus, we're pretty close to Gurnee Mills Mall! We found the Walmart Supercenter, got some ice cream, and are in our room for the night. My husband is reading TV guide...it's got a big article on 24...which starts TOMORROW! Oh, the commercial is on right now too! :o)
Anyway, this was my birthday weekend, and I can tell you it's been wonderful so far. who cares if my birthday isn't til Friday?

I gave my nephew a bath tonight and I wrote "Go Bucky" up high (per his request of course - well, the up high part anyway) and then I told him that and he repeated it in his little sing-song voice "Go Bucky!"
A win is a win is a win. And Bucky is all that matters.
Btw, happy birthday!
Yeah Bucky!!! I didn't get to watch it because of the stupid my madison station...Dish doesn't carry it...but I did listen intently. Sounded like a lot of UW fans!
Happy Birthday! I believe in Birthday weeks!
wait?? you went all the way to Naperville for dinner?
Wasn't that a little out of your way, or did you just want Mongolian BBQ that bad? It is a fantastic place!
Not Naperville, but Vernon Hills. It's kind of on the way from Evanston to Waukegan. It was pretty good stuff!
