The reality of the MALL

Think about your local mall. Or any mall you've ever been to.

What are the stores like?

It didn't dawn on me until today why exactly it is that guys don't enjoy (for the most part) going to a mall.

What the hell is there for them at a mall? If they are in their teens/early 20's, maybe they'll shop at The Buckle or Aeropostale. If they are sports fans, maybe a Dick's Sporting Goods would trip their trigger. And if they like video games, there's EB Electronics. But seriously...they can get any of that stuff elsewhere. Where they are not surrounded by stores that are absolutely aimed at women.

Bath & Body Works
Victoria's Secret (ok, that could work for both I guess)
Best Nails
Dress Barn
Kay Jewelers
Gymboree (guys don't buy their kids that kind of stuff, do they?)
Hallmark stores (unless they're in the dog house and need a card)
Shoe stores
Disney Store

So, next time your boyfriend/husband says "no" to the mall, offer to go to Best Buy with him afterwards, because there really is nothing for him at the mall. Unless he is in that late teen/early 20's stage I mentioned before. Then he's either there to buy his long-time girlfriend of 3 months a gold chain, or to buy something at Aeropostale and hit on the cute cashier.

:) You just hit the nail on the head with that statement!

Hell, somedays I wonder what's for ME at the mall, so I don't have a hard time understanding why men don't want to go there.
