Ok, so the issue from the last post isn't completely resolved, but my boss knows I was pissed off, we talked about it, and there shouldn't be any problems from here on out. And now I know that if there is, I can tell him.
Tonight, shortly after I got to work, I noticed someone new in our news room. There's a window separating the studio from the news room. I thought "They must have finally hired someone" and went on about my business. Then she looked through the glass and kind of stared at me.
Oh. My. God. My favorite teacher from broadcasting school that I haven't seen in 7 years WORKS HERE! She has for 2+ weeks, we just haven't crossed paths. I couldn't believe it when I saw her. She was such an awesome teacher and a friend. She got me my first paid internship working at a station she'd worked at. She told me about a job in Stevens Point before I even graduated--I ended up taking that job and graduating early. She was also there when I got fired from that job, giving me encouragement. She said "You're finally in the business!" and I really was. And then we lost touch. I've thought about her a lot over the years, not knowing where she was or what she was doing. And tonight, she's in the news room, staring at me through a window. And I couldn't be more excited!!!

Wait: confused.
You have to get fired to be "in the business"?!?!
yep, that's what they tell me. i was fired...and just about everyone else in the biz has been fired at some point. and you usually end up back at the place you were fired from (or quit). I actually went back to the place that fired me, only because the guy who fired me and the guy that replaced me were both fired after about a month!
I see... thanks for the clarification!
