I've always been a Wisconsin Badger fan, but it's gotten almost out of control the last few years. Since I met my husband, really. We have football season tickets (I think this year was our last, actually) and I hate missing a basketball game. I love listening to Matt Lepay call both football and basketball. He's got so much passion for the game...it's fabulous.
Today was a big day for the Badger men's basketball team. I'm at work, but thankfully we have a television in the studio! #7 Badgers vs. #2 (and unbeaten) Pittsburg. The Badgers took off early, and held on the whole game. It was SUCH a fun game to watch...the Badgers won 89-75. They have never been ranked higher than #6...but I think they can do it this time! They beat an unbeaten, #2 team. I think that should give him a #5 ranking.
I'm SO excited to be going to the Badger/Northwestern game in January. It's in IL, but that's because games at the Kohl Center are sold out every year before the season even starts. It's kind of hard to get tickets! My husband got me the Northwestern tickets for my birthday, and I can't wait!

I heart, heart, heart Bucky. Oh my darling Badger... as I look around my office, my calendar has a photo of two of my old roommates and I at a football game, the picture frame right next to my computer has a picture of my sister-in-law and I at the National Champtionship Hockey game last year (men's, Bradley Center), there are ticket stubs all over my "board", and a photo of one of my best friends from college & I with Bucky on Graduation day. Hmm... obsessed? ;)
Oh Kari , if you are going to start posting pictures and stats from the Wisconsin bball team, I am going to have to take a bloggin hiatis! :)
Being a former Golden Eagle and all... :)
Boo, DC, I haven't boycotted your blog on GA days, now have I? ;) (And the reason I'm even getting in on this is evident in just how much I adore Bucky...
LOL... I'm just saying... It's not that you have anything against GA, just that you don't watch it?? Or am I missing something? Plus, there hasn't been a new GA in weeks! :)
Golden Eagles, as in Marquette? I can totally respect that. I will refer back to my blog from late January/early February when I went to Dallas to visit a friend and we went to a Mavericks/Heat game! However, I will always love the Badgers over the Golden Eagles. I have to!
As for you, TC, I think your chance to catch up on GA is coming. Since there hasn't been a new one in a while, the next new episode will surely have some sort of recap. You wont' regret it!
Hey, I just thought of something. DC, I bet she watches it, she just can't admit to it because that would be admiting defeat!!! :o)
I've got nothing against them either, but it's all about the badger at the end of the day.
I saw <1 episode of GA. That was all I needed to know that I didn't like it and that the world going gaga over it would annoy me. :) Nice try though, Kari. ;)
-TC, whom blogger hates
yes, Kari, Marquette. Dwayne is actually a friend of mine, so needless to say, I was spreading HEAT cheer every where I went last year! :)
TC, it's okay that you aren't on the GA bandwagon... there's still time!
Name dropping now are you, DC? ;)
I'm all about promoting all Wisconsin athletes. We've got some good stuff up here!
There' still time for me to jump on the bandwagon? Hmm, I'm thinking no.
Hey, you gotta name drop when you can... it's the only way I am going to be able to stand against you badger fans! :)
No love and appreciation at all for your former state? Oh wait, I forgot, all you people from Milwaukee think that's the only place in the state! ;)
Long hail Bucky!
(Btw, Kari, I hope you're enjoying this little "discussion" we have going on on your blog.)
(sorry Kari)... I lived in Madison for 2 years when I was younger and went to school there! I know it's there, that doesn't mean I have to like it though! :)
btw, just for the record. I do like Badger football, so really all the hard feelings are just a basketball thing. Since that's all they compete with Marquette in. Your volleyball team (whom friends of mine played for) wouldn't play us because we were "below" you! :)
Ouch. Ouch. No love for Madtown... *sigh* I might have to rethink my like of you, DC. ;)
See, it's fine to say you're going to root for Marquette over Bucky (ok, that's a lie because it's NEVER okay to not cheer for Bucky, but work with me), but to say you flat out hate Badger Bball? That's sacrilegious! I've been known to cheer for Marquette when the Badgers are down and out: it's all about the Wisconsin teamS.
okay, okay... TRUCE!
I am a cheesehead and will always be a cheesehead. I just have my favorites!
I don't know if we should give up this easily... ah, what the heck. Bucky promotes such good sportsmanship (ha!) that I guess we need to as well.
HAHA!
Hey, I know we've bot some of the worst sportsmanship fans in the nation! But they're soooo funny! :)
you guys are too funny! this is the most comments i've ever had on a blog!
is it safe for me to admit that when i went to dallas and saw the mavericks/heat game, i was totally rooting for the mavericks and not d. wade???
I think considering the way she (originally) trashed Bucky, that it's a-ok to admit that, Kari. :)
Happy to help liven up your blog! Perhaps you have something even more inspiring than MM to post about now! ;)
i'm feeling ganged up on...typical! :)
I would have probably gotten shot, sitting in Dallas rooting for the Heat! So I'm not gangin' up, I'm just sayin! I had to get out of there alive!
Awww, we love ya, DC. We're just badgers through and through. Tell you what: you get me that Christmas shirt, I'll buy you a new bucky shirt. It's all good.
And Kari, we're glad you're alive or we wouldn't have had this post to comment on a ridiculous number of times today! ;)
