I get knocked down, but I get up again

Nothing like a little "Tubthumpin" at 5:15 on a Saturday morning. It's quite fitting, too. I felt knocked down a couple times these past 2 days. Thursday seems forever ago. Friday morning I was up...well, to be completely honest, I never really went to sleep. Ok, I got 5 minutes before getting out of bed and heading out to Best Buy. What a joke. We got there around 4am. The line was already around the store. They weren't to open until 5am. By 4:30, the claim tickets for the laptop I wanted were gone, so Gertie and I got in the car and headed to Shopko. The line wasn't TOO long there, but there were cheaters. You know, waiting til the last minute (in their warm car) and jumping in line to get in before those that had been waiting for 30 minutes already. We found what we wanted (I got a nice entertainment center for our upstairs living room for $80) and headed to the line. The poor cashier in our line...it was her 3rd day on the job, and her register wasn't working so well. I told her not to let people get her down (it was about 5:30am at this point) and she seemed to appreciate that. We headed out of there and went to Menards. YIKES! that place was opening at 6 and the line was pretty long. we only wanted a couple things there, so we decided not to wait in line. We then went to Target. Another line there. They were also opening at 6am. (side note--all these stores are within a 1/2 mile of each other). More people waiting in their cars to jump out at the last minute and get in the store. So I was a brat and opened my mouth about people being rude and the rest of us waiting in line. Thankfully, no one tried to kick my butt or steal my stuff once inside. We again found what we wanted (I think i spent $12 at target. the game "Sorry" and a couple bottles of hand soap) and then we went to Bed Bath & Beyond and Michael's crafts. We tried Menards again, but when we went inside, it was U-G-L-Y ugly. So we changed plans and went to the other side of town to Staples to get a couple file totes and something wireless for the computer for Dave. (HE's the computer person, not me. i just do his shopping). This store was already open, so there was no butting in line. The employees there were very nice, and we found what we wanted. There was another Menards on that side of town, so we tried there...hardly ANY customers compared to the other one. So once again, we got what we wanted (a shovel for $2.77 which would come in very handy, as it snowed all afternoon) and headed BACK to Best Buy. Just wanted to make sure they were out of the $29.99 version of Dance Revolution for PS2, and they were. So, Gertie dropped me off at home and we unloaded all my CRAP into the house. It was only about 8:30am, and I was getting pretty dang tired. So I showed Dave my finds (a doodle bear for my nieces, a multi-photo frame for $4, games for kids that visit, etc) and fell into bed. It was about 9am. I'd only been awake for about 22 hours at this time, except the aforementioned 5 minutes I slept Friday morning from 3:40am-3:45am. I woke at 1:15pm, and the snow was coming down. Instead of going to dinner and a movie, we went to the grocery store and then to Figaro's for a take-n-bake pizza. Nummy! We decided (because it was snowy and i was still tired) that we weren't gonna go hot-tubbing, so I napped for a couple hours. THEN comes the fun part. We put together the entertainment center. It wasn't actually too bad. We didn't yell at each other, and had only a couple mishaps. It fits in our LR really well, size and color wise, so we're happy. I was back asleep at 11:30 (after a mini-meltdown because the desserts I was to make for today's celebration weren't what I wanted) and up at 4:30am to come to work. Thankfully, the roads were cleared, so I had enough time to get to the store before work to get stuff to make NEW desserts for today. I'm pretty certain they'll turn out much better than what I made last night while putting together the entertainment center. It's amazing (as I've stated before) what happens when you don't follow directions. SO, here I am. more awake than I've been in the last 2 days, and not completely aware of what day it really is. What a way to live, huh?

To top it all off, I just tried drinking my not-so-hot chocolate from the wrong side of the cup and now I look like I wet myself. This is gonna be a good day.
